WEAR BLUE FOR GREG

WEAR BLUE FOR GREG

On Monday 16 July SCWA will be holding our ‘Wear Blue for Greg day’ as part of the LAT-wide fundraising campaign in support of Greg Keating, an ICT teacher at Mascalls Academy who earlier this year contracted meningococcal sepsis and Neisseria meningitis.

The Trust is helping Greg’s family raise funds to purchase better quality prosthetic limbs to help him get around more easily and get him back into the classroom.

By donating £1 students may wear one blue item of clothing for the day e.g. a blue t-shirt with academy uniform on the bottom; or blue trousers/skirt with academy uniform on the top; or blue shoes/trainers. Form tutors will be collecting the donations during WellBeing time.

SPORTS FEST – DAY 1

Monday is also Day 1 of Sports Fest 2018!

Javelin, Discus, Shot Put, Long Jump, High Jump, 1500m, Hurdles and 800m are all taking place during the morning.

Students competing in these events should come to school in their full PE kit and report to 2012 immediately after WellBeing. All competitors should wear sunscreen and have a bottle of water with them as the hot weather is set to continue.

When events have finished students may change into their academy uniform ready for lunch, followed by P4 & 5 lessons. Any student wishing to ‘Wear Blue for Greg’ during P4 & 5 should give their £1 donation to their form tutor.
