End of Term Arrangements – Module 6

Dear Parents/Carers,

As we approach the end of term and Academic year, I am writing to inform you of some changes to educational provision of students on Friday 22 July 2022.

Considering the challenges faced in recent times, this academic year the students in our school community have applied themselves exceptionally well and we thank you for your support and partnership. The staff at Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy very much look forward to students returning next Academic year for the next phase of their educational journey. It is, therefore, paramount that we have a smooth and meaningful end to this academic year in preparation for next.

On Friday 22 July 2022 students will no longer be required onsite for their conventional timetabled lessons. We have made the decision to dedicate the day to virtual learning which will both promote independence for our students as well as support the digital strategy that is so prevalent in education and the workplace. The learning activities that we are planning will allow students to reflect on their learning journey this academic year, how they have developed and grown holistically and the progress that they have made.

We will communicate with you shortly the specific details of the planned activities. In the meantime, you will find below a brief overview of the intention for specific year groups:

Years 7, 8 & 9

The activities for these year groups will be based around the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme through which our curriculum is delivered. At the core of the MYP is the Learner Profile which represents attributes that help individuals become responsible members of local, national and global communities.

Year 10

Students in this year group will be engaging in their work experience placement during this period. For those with physical placements, students should continue to visit their workplace. For students who are engaging via virtual placement, they will access the experience in a similar manner to which has been facilitated to date.

Year 12

Students in this year group will be engaging in virtual work based learning during this period. Full instructions to access this provision will be provided in advance.

If for any reason you are unable to accommodate this change, please complete this form by 4pm on Thursday 14 July 2022, so that we can ensure an onsite provision is in place for your child.

I would like to thank you in advance for your continued support.

Kind Regards,

Mr K Watson
Vice Principal
