Dear Parents/Carers,
I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed as the new Principal for Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy,
and I’m very keen to get to know all our pupils, parents, carers and staff.
We are an International Baccalaureate World School authorised to deliver the Middle Years Programme. At the heart of my vision is a commitment to the IB philosophy that generates high standards, a respectful and disciplined community where students and staff thrive; a no-excuses ethos prevails and aspirations are unashamedly high as we celebrate diversity and educate for a better world.
From my experience of leading schools, I know that a successful school depends on all of us working together. As parents and carers, you make an important contribution to your children’s achievements, and I’m excited to build on the relationship between you and the school for everyone’s benefit.
I will be holding a number of events over the next academic term, including coffee mornings and drop-in sessions. I look forward to meeting many of you there. These meetings will take place at a number of different times in the day and week in the hope that as many families as possible will have the opportunity to attend.
We will be in touch with the details in the new academic year.
As the academic year draws to close, I would like to thank you for your continued support during challenging times when we are all adjusting to events post lockdowns. I have been very grateful for the dedication and resilience shown by our staff and how well our students have settled back into routines, especially the Year 11 and 13 students who have just finished their GCSE and A level examinations. We wish them well for results days and a bright future ahead.
During Module 6, it has been very pleasing to see the return of the school production, ‘Matilda’, and a wide range of trips, visits and other events; more details of which can be found in the newsletter. Leaders have been working hard to ensure the academy is fully staffed for September and have appointed some very talented new teachers and support staff.
