Talented photographer and Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy Year 10 student Conor Shiels from New Eltham is determined to become a professional photographer and is building up his portfolio of work.  He was lucky enough to gain some work experience at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards which took place at the Old Vic Theatre in Waterloo on Sunday 13th November and some of his film work was featured in the Evening Standard online news report! Conor was able to gain his work experience with Shorty Productions, the production company in charge of filming the event and producing the highlights film.

“It was a really good experience.  I kept a low profile and got some great informal shots of celebrities socialising as well as filming the stars in the foyer”  said Conor.
Conor’s portfolio of work now includes photographs of Sir Elton John, Sir David Attenborough and Prince William as well as some stunning shots of the venue.

“I prefer working in black and white and I’m trying to develop my own style” said Conor who hopes to be able to gain more work experience at other events throughout the year.
“Conor is an exceptionally talented photographer and his work is featured around the Academy.  He shows great determination and has the potential to be a top photographer.  I am sure we will all be admiring his photos in years to come” said Photography Teacher, Sam Bloomfield.“
