Dear Parents and Carers
Following my letter yesterday, I would like to outline the plans for each year group on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 March.
Year 7, 8 and 9 will be at home and attending live lessons where their teacher is at work. The teacher will post if they are teaching on the Google classroom in the morning. Where their teacher is on strike, we are continuing with our student challenge and encourage students to work on preparing this. Full guidance can be found on this link: The Storytime Channel Challenge. There are awards for the best entries.
Additional learning can be accessed on the following websites:
- STEM Lessons Online – a range of online video lessons and resources.
- Oaks National Academy – lessons and resources for all subjects.
Year 10 will be at home and attending live lessons where their teacher is at work. The teacher will post if they are teaching on the Google classroom in the morning. Where their teacher is on strike, they are also able to continue with the additional study tasks available:
- Science 1 – Science Practice Paper
- Science 2 – Atomic Structure Combined
- English Language – Practice Paper
- English Language – Mark Scheme
- Maths – Practice Paper
- Maths – Mark Scheme
In addition to this, further learning materials can be found on the following websites:
- Helpful resources covering topics in chemistry, biology and physics
- ‘A Christmas Carol’ audio book
- Oaks National Academy lessons and resources for all subjects
Year 11 should attend school as normal and register in the restaurant; they will have a combination of face to face lessons where this is possible and supervised study for the remainder of the time. They should ensure they have revision materials and their chromebook with them for their supervised study. Year 11 GCSE PE students will need their PE kit on Wednesday.
Year 12 will be at home and attending live lessons where their teacher is at work. Students without live lessons should complete independent study.
Year 13 are invited into Arden for independent study. Teachers will inform students if they have lessons to attend in advance.
Students in the Key Worker Hub should go to the restaurant on their arrival.
Thank you for your support and understanding. We look forward to seeing the students back in school on Friday 17 March.
Kind regards
Ms K Long
Vice Principal
