Industrial Action 27th April/2nd May 2023 – Year Group Learning Plans

Dear Parents/Carers,

Following my previous letter, I would like to outline the plans for each year group on Thursday 27 April and Tuesday 2 May.

Year 7, 8 and 9 will be at home and attending live lessons where their teacher is at work. The teacher will post if they are teaching on the Google Classroom in the morning. Where their teacher is on strike, they can access the following learning activities:

Year 10 will be at home and attending live lessons where their teacher is at work. The teacher will post if they are teaching on the Google Classroom in the morning. Where their teacher is on strike, they are also able to continue with the additional study tasks available:

In addition to this, further learning materials can be found on the following websites:

Year 11 should attend school as normal and go to the restaurant before registering and engaging in their exam preparation. They should ensure they have revision materials and their chromebook with them for any periods of supervised study.

Year 12 will be at home and attending live lessons if their teacher is at work. Students without live lessons should complete independent study.

In addition to this:

  • The work experience deadline is fast approaching so any student who has not yet confirmed a work placement should use their time to do so. Once secured, details of the placement need to be uploaded to the Unifrog platform by clicking on the placement tool and then add a new placement
  • Students can use the time to work on their Post-16 planning. Students are advised to use the unifrog platform and the UCAS website to explore career pathways, university and apprenticeship options. The unifrog platform should be used to support the completion of a personal statement for UCAS applicants but also has a great search facility for apprenticeships for students to explore. The platform also has lots of information on potential career pathways alongside activities to help extend students’ knowledge and understanding of both career based skills (e.g. interview guidance) and subjects (e.g. read, watch, listen) – https://www.unifrog.org/sign-in

Year 13 should attend school as normal and go to Arden 004 to register. There will be lessons as normal wherever possible, students will engage in independent study when lessons are not possible.

Students in the Key Worker Hub should go to the restaurant on their arrival.

Thank you for your support and understanding.
