Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful break and were able to spend precious time with family and friends. We have been pleased to welcome all our students back this week and look forward to another exciting and successful term.
New Appointments
I wanted to update you on some exciting changes to our leadership team and the structure of our home schools. I am delighted to welcome Mr Farr who has joined us as Vice Principal and is the new Head of Ashdown School.
Mr Farr is an experienced leader with a proven track record within Leigh Academies Trust of raising standards. Building on his experience, Mr Farr looks forward to supporting your child/ren through their secondary education and will ensure that regardless of their starting point or background they will flourish and succeed. Mr Farr is passionate about providing every student with a first class education, firmly believing in SCWA’s values – ‘Scholarship, Fellowship and Leadership’ and is proud that we are an International Baccalaureate World School with a carefully thought out curriculum and personal development programme to engage, challenge and equip students to become life long, global learners.
I am also pleased to introduce Mr Khan who has joined us as Assistant Principal and Deputy Head of Sherwood School. Mr Khan will be working closely with our Year 11 students.
Mr Khan has over 20 years of experience in a teaching and leadership role. He is an experienced leader with a passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and developing partnerships with Higher Education Institutes and employers. A graduate of both UCL and London’s Imperial College, studying advanced mathematics and engineering, we are delighted that he is able to bring his vast knowledge to Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy for the benefit of our learners.
These new appointments will strengthen and support our growing pastoral teams. I have outlined the new structures below.
