Dear Parents/Carers,
This Friday, 11th November, will mark Remembrance Day 2022. At Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy we are proud to engage with this annual opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all those who have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.
Poppies are available for students at the receptions in each small school in return for a donation to the Royal British Legion. These can be purchased and worn for the duration of this week.
On Friday 11th November, in collaboration with the Worshipful Company of Stationers’ and the Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy Combined Cadet Force we will be holding the annual service of remembrance. Students in Years 7, 11, 12 and 13 will be in attendance at the service of remembrance whilst students in Years 8, 9 and 10 will participate in classroom based activities on the topic of remembrance with their Period 2 teacher. All students will participate in the national two minutes silence at 11am as we remember the Armed Forces, and their families, the vital role played by the emergency services and those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.
In order to facilitate the running of this day we have made some slight alterations to the lesson timings for the day.
