Behaviour Education Support


BEST aims to promote emotional well-being, positive behaviour and school attendance amongst children and your people.

Reasons for a BEST referral might be: –

  • Worries and upsets at home or school
  • Bereavement
  • Social and Emotional Difficulties
  • Poor School Attendance/Truancy
  • Transition Concerns
  • Risk of Exclusion
  • Bullying/Being Bullied
  • Aggression or Acting Out Behaviour
  • Anti-Social Behaviour
  • General Help and Support

How to refer to BEST

The most common way for someone to be referred to BEST is by their Head of School or another member of Academy staff.

Students will often self refer.

Other Agencies
Referrals are often received from agencies such as Children’s Services, GP’s, CAMH‘s etc.

Parents and Carers
If you are a parent or carer and you feel that your child may benefit from any of these services we would be pleased to consider a referral from you.
