Dear Parents/Carers,
Following the letter I sent regarding our Intervention Strategy dated 22 February 2022, I am delighted to inform you that SCWA will be offering additional examination preparation and revision sessions on Saturday mornings and during the Easter holidays. In line with our intervention strategy, students will be directed towards sessions based on identified needs. Where a session is indicated as an ‘open invite’, any students studying that subject are encouraged to attend. Where sessions are indicated as ‘invite only’, subject areas will be in contact with parents/carers to inform you if attendance is required for your son/daughter.
Due to the nature of opening the site outside of conventional academy teaching days, students will need to access via the pedestrian entrance next to the car park entrance and alongside the restaurant. Students may head straight to the building and room allocated for their session and leave the site via the same route immediately after the session. There is no expectation for students to wear school uniform for these sessions and students should bring light refreshments if deemed necessary as there will be no catering facilities available during these times. Please note, expectations with regard to student behaviour and conduct will remain the same as the usual high standards.
The personalised homework strategy and small group intervention sessions that take place at the end of the academy day will remain in place until examinations in that subject have been completed.
Please find attached the sessions that will be on offer and the location of each session.
Thank you in advance for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Mr K Watson
Vice Principal
