Dear Year 11 Parents/Carers,
Whilst recent years have undoubtedly been the most challenging times we have seen in education, it has been humbling to see how well our students adapted to continuous change. I am very pleased that they were able to complete their courses in school and were all able to experience a rigorous set of examinations. We believe our students rose to the challenge with a positivity, fortitude and determination which was quite simply impressive and we are very proud of them all.
Results Day 2022 – Organisation
Year 11 students will be required to pick up their results on Thursday, 25 August 2022 between 8am-12pm in the Main Hall, Crown Building.
If your child is unable to attend Results Day, please send in a self-addressed stamped envelope to our main office for the attention of the Exams Team. We will be able to post these to you, or alternatively your child can nominate another person to collect on their behalf by giving them a signed letter of authorisation.
Enrolment into Arden
If your child has already applied to Arden and meets the GCSE requirements, the next step will be to complete the enrolment process. Arden enrolment will take place on GCSE Results Day on 25 August from 9.00-11.30am in the Crown Building. The process can take some time and we ask that you are patient on the day to ensure you are fully enrolled onto the most appropriate courses.
You should bring the following documentation with you:
- £10 registration fee
- Examination results
- Parent/carer/guardian contact phone number (mobile, home and work) and email address
If you are unable to attend on enrolment day you may send a representative with written permission and the documentation outlined above to enrol on your behalf. Unfortunately, we will not be able to hold places open after enrolment day for applicants who have not enrolled. If you are likely to be out of the country on the day and have no representative you could appoint, please call Ms Francis in Arden or email Ms Francis as soon as possible to discuss this matter further.
Arden is an oversubscribed sixth form. Any student who has not yet applied but meets the entry criteria and now wishes to be considered, will be required to complete the enrolment process and will be placed on a waiting list. Please follow the procedures above. We will inform all students who have placed on the waiting list whether they have secured a place by 5pm on Results Day.
Careers Advice and Guidance
Students who require career advice will be able to meet with Ms Taylor, our independent careers advisor, on the day for support with choices, applications and more.
Destination Data Gathering
Please note that we have a legal requirement to collate student information on Post 16 destinations. We will begin the process of collecting this information on Results Day. If your child is not enrolling into Arden Sixth Form and has secured a placement, or has a conditional offer which will be confirmed in response to GCSE grades, please ensure your child knows the name of the provider, course and level of course (this is applicable to all routes including other sixth forms, colleges and apprenticeship providers).
We look forward to seeing Year 11 students on Thursday, 25 August 2022.
Yours sincerely,
Mr K Watson
Vice Principal
