Year 12 Trip to Royal Institute of British Architects

Some of the artwork presented for the Forma Show at the Royal Institute of British Architects.

Recently Year 12 Art students made their way up to London to attend the annual Forma Show at the Royal Institute of British Architects. Before the show, we visited the Tate Modern Gallery and walked around the galleries, focusing especially on examples of abstract art to link to the current project. At the Forma show, the students had the opportunity to meet and chat to tutors from different art colleges to find out more about further studies in art and other creative subjects. They found out about the courses that are on offer as well as the entry requirements for these. They also attended a lecture given by practising artists and lecturers where they were able to ask any questions and receive more guidance on preparing their portfolios for interview in the future. The day was very enjoyable and informative and the students made the most of the opportunity to view live art.
