Our Drama Club’s outstanding rendition of “Romeo and Juliet” at Greenwich Theatre showcased exceptional talent and dedication. We extend our gratitude to Ms Walton and Ms Asobie for their invaluable support. Upcoming visits to Stationers’ Hall for Year 12 and Year 7 pupils provide a unique chance to enhance their knowledge of The Stationers’ Company, our school’s sponsor, and to understand its significant influence on the publishing industry.

Furthermore, the mock examinations for Year 11 and Year 13 underscores our focus on scholarship, meticulously preparing our students for success. Through personalised timetables, morning warm-up sessions, and after-school revision classes, we are equipping our pupils with the tools and confidence needed to excel in their exams and beyond.

Thank you to everyone in our school community for your ongoing support.

Best wishes,
Joseph Sparks | Principal, Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy

Educational Visits to Stationers’ Hall, London

Students from our Academy are set for enriching educational visits to Stationers’ Hall, located in the heart of central London. These visits aim to deepen students’ understanding of The Stationers’ Company, our Academy’s sponsor.

A group of Year 12 pupils is scheduled to visit on Monday, 26 February 2024. Additionally, groups of Year 7 pupils will have their visits on Friday, 8 March 2024, and Wednesday, 20 March 2024. These visits will offer students a unique opportunity to explore the historical and contemporary significance of The Stationers’ Hall.

Mr Duran, Assistant Principal, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming trips, stating, “During their visit to the Hall, our students will be immersed in learning about its rich history, dating back to the 16th century, and its significant development into an essential regulatory body for the printing and publishing industries. They will uncover the critical role of The Stationers’ Company in overseeing London’s publishing industry and its dedicated efforts to safeguard intellectual copyrights. I believe this trip provides an excellent opportunity for our students to gain invaluable insights and appreciate the profound impact of this institution on the broader landscape of publishing.”

The journey will also cover the evolution of printing methods from traditional techniques to modern technologies, illustrating the profound influence of printing on education, politics, religion, and the arts. Additionally, students will be introduced to key figures in printing history, enhancing their appreciation for this transformative industry.
